Celebrating Independence Day with a waste segregation event along with the Mayor and Municipal Commissioner
On 15th August 2021, The Aviral ground team organized a waste segregation event with the Haridwar Nagar Nigam to showcase Project Aviral and its objectives among 200 participants.
On the 75th Independence Day of India, our Aviral team collaborated with the Haridwar Nagar Nigam officials to organize a waste segregation event as a part of Swachh Bharat Mission's "Swachhta Sankalp desh ka, har ravivar vishesh sa" event.
The Mayor and Municipal Commissioner hoisted the national flag. This was followed by a felicitation of all Assistant Municipal Commissioners, sanitary inspectors, supervisors, sweepers, and other waste workers for their efforts. Winners of the Aviral slogan competitions were also felicitated.
Students from Sewa Sadan Mahila Intercollege performed the Aviral jingle based on source segregation, anti-littering, and our responsibility towards keeping Ganga clean.
The Aviral team set up an awareness stall to discuss the benefits of source segregation and displayed products made from recycled waste to highlight the possibilities of resource recovery among participants.
The members of general public apporached our awareness stall and took the following pledges :
•Start source segregation at home.
•Stop littering in open spaces.
•Reduce the use of single-use plastic and disposables.
The Mayor, the Municipal Commissioner and other officials of Nagar Nigam also showed their support by taking the pledges, strengthening our collective efforts towards reducing plastic waste entering the Ganga.
